What Is a Large Format Feeder?
A large format feeder is a friction-based automation system designed to separate and feed flat materials—especially oversized bags and similar material—into downstream processing equipment. These feeders are ideal for applications that require precise placement for labeling, printing, counting, or fulfillment.
Unlike traditional feeders, Pineberry’s large format systems are engineered to accommodate a broad range of material sizes, weights, and thicknesses, with seamless integration into existing production lines.
Our video below features a versatile and flexible feeding transport solution for small to large bags using pick and place technology at 6 ppm. Our system takes in all bag sizes into one system; the largest bag measures 29.5” long. A label applicator is integrated to the system along with two hi-resolution print systems capable of printing up to a 4” window.
We integrated a mount bracket to the labelers so that they are able to move across the belt as well as turn 90⁰ for applying labels in various locations as required. The system has a very small footprint and is on casters. A simple design to allow labeling and inkjet to be done off-line. This load-on-the-fly pick and place system can be used for many applications needing to feed large bags or corrugated cartons.
