Automated Sorting & Counting Systems for Collectible Cards

Count, verify, and sort trading cards at production speed — without the errors of manual handling.

Pineberry builds automated counting and sorting systems for collectible card games (TCG), sports cards, and trading cards. Singulate cards one at a time, count and verify deck quantities, and sort by attribute for randomized pack insertion, grading prep, or order fulfilment — all at high speed.

Based in Toronto, Ontario. Serving card manufacturers, distributors, and fulfilment operations across Canada and the US.

High-Speed Counting

High-Speed Counting — Count and verify cards faster than manual handling, with audit-grade accuracy

Sort by Attribute

Separate by card type, set, rarity, or insertion rule

Pack-Out Ready

Feeds randomized pack insertion, grading prep, and order fulfilment lines

How Automated Card Counting & Sorting Works

A card system automates the singulation, counting, verification, and sorting of individual cards. Instead of hand-counting decks, the system feeds one card at a time, counts and reads it, and routes it to the correct destination — continuously, at production speed.

N1

Singulation

A friction feeder separates the card stack and feeds one card at a time into the counting head. Reliable singulation is what makes accurate high-speed counting possible. See our friction feeders.

N2

Counting & Verification

The counting head registers each card. Optional sensing verifies the count against the target quantity and flags shortages or doubles before pack-out — eliminating miscounts in finished product.

N3

Sorting

Cards are sorted by attribute — type, set, or rarity, — into the correct order.

N4

Pack-Out / Fulfilment

Verified, sorted cards are transferred to the downstream operation: randomized pack insertion, deck assembly, grading prep, or order fulfilment.

What Cards Can Be Counted and Sorted?

If your cards stack and feed consistently, they can be singulated, counted, and sorted on a Pineberry system.

Who Uses Card Counting & Sorting Systems?

coffee_pouch

Card Manufacturers & Printers

Insert the right cards into the right packs — including randomized “hit” insertion for chase cards and premiums — with verified counts that protect product integrity.

pet_food_pouch

Distributors & Fulfilment Houses

Count and sort incoming bulk cards for redistribution, kitting, and order fulfilment without hand-counting every deck.

Grading & Authentication Services

Pre-sort and count submissions to speed intake and reduce manual handling of high-value cards.

Game Publishers & Hobby Brands

Assemble starter decks, booster contents, and collector sets with accurate, repeatable counts.

How Fast and How Accurate?

Automated counting is both faster and more accurate than manual handling. Typical deployed configurations count several hundred cards per minute at near-100% verified accuracy.

Throughput: ~200–600 cards/minute depending on configuration

Count accuracy: Verified counting flags shortages and doubles before pack-out

Changeover: Configurable feed and sort rules for different card stocks and set sizes

Why Automate Instead of Hand-Counting?

Slow, labor-intensive deck counting
Human miscounts reach finished product
Inconsistent randomized insertion
Repetitive strain on operators
Hard to scale at peak season
Automated System
High-speed continuous counting
Verified counts flag errors before pack-out
Repeatable, rule-driven insertion
Operators supervise instead of hand-count
Scales with production demand

Integration with Your Pack-Out Line

Pineberry card systems integrate with upstream feeding and downstream pack-out, sealing, and fulfilment equipment. Singulation is driven by our own friction feeders, and the counting/sorting head is matched to your card stock and target speed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you count and sort Pokémon, Magic, and other TCG cards?

Yes. Our systems handle trading card games, sports cards, and standard playing cards. We tune singulation to the card stock and finish, then count, verify, and sort by your insertion or collation rules.

How accurate is automated card counting?

Verified counting registers each card and flags shortages or doubles before pack-out, so miscounts don’t reach finished product. Typical verified count accuracy is ~99.9%+.

Can the system handle randomized pack insertion (chase / hit cards)?

Yes. Sorting and routing can follow randomized insertion rules so premium or chase cards are distributed according to your specification.

What card sizes and finishes can you feed?

Standard, oversized, foil, and textured cards can be singulated with the right feeder configuration. Send us samples and we’ll test feeding and counting.

Can a card system integrate with my existing line?

Yes. We survey your line, design the integration (feeding, counting, routing, timing, controls), and install without disrupting production.
