Conveyor Types We Build

Pineberry builds conveyors for specific production requirements — not off-the-shelf rollers you adapt after the fact. Each type is selected based on your product, your speed, and where it fits in your line.

Timing Belt Conveyors

Flat Belt Conveyors

The workhorse of packaging line transport. Flat belt conveyors move products horizontally between machines at consistent speed.

How they work: A flat urethane or PVC belt runs on a frame sized to your product and your line footprint. Speed is adjustable to match upstream and downstream equipment. Frames are available in stainless steel or painted carbon steel depending on the environment.

Best for:

Transferring products between packaging machines (feeder to labeler, labeler to coder, coder to case packer)

Gentle handling of fragile or lightweight products

Short to medium transport runs where product orientation must be maintained

Typical applications: Carton transport, bottle transport, product buffering between manual and automated stations

Vacuum Conveyors

Designed to hold flat, lightweight, or flexible materials against the belt surface during high-speed transport — preventing slippage, flutter, or misalignment.

How they work: A perforated belt runs over a vacuum plenum. Suction holds the product flat against the belt surface throughout the transport run. Vacuum level is adjustable based on material weight and porosity.

Best for:
Paper and card stock in print and mail operations
Film, labels, or Tyvek in packaging and pharmaceutical lines
Any flat material that shifts or curls during high-speed handling
Feeding flat material into printing, folding, or insertion stations that require precise entry alignment
Typical applications:Print and mail document transport, flat pouch or leaflet transport, paper insert handling in e-commerce fulfillment

Timing Belt Conveyors

For operations where exact product positioning matters — printing, labeling, barcode verification, or inspection. Timing belt conveyors synchronize product movement to a repeating cycle, placing each item at a precise position at a precise moment.

How they work: A toothed timing belt runs on a matched pulley. Product carriers, lugs, or flights on the belt surface hold individual items at fixed intervals. Belt movement is synchronized to upstream feeders or downstream printers via encoder or servo drive.

Best for:
Synchronized feeding into inkjet printers, thermal coders, or laser coders
Positioning products under camera inspection systems
Any application where variable product spacing would cause misprints, mislabels, or failed reads
Typical applications: Coding and marking lines, label applicator infeed, barcode verification stations, Pineberry print-on-demand line integration

Industries We Serve with Conveyor Systems

Food and Beverage Manufacturing

Food-grade conveyor systems built for sanitary environments — stainless steel frames, food-safe belt materials, and wash-down-rated components where required.

Pineberry conveyors handle bottles, jars, cartons, pouches, trays, and bulk products in ambient, chilled, and dry environments. Belt materials are selected for food contact compliance.

Pharmaceutical Packaging Lines

Pharmaceutical lines require precise product positioning, cleanroom-compatible materials, and in many cases, GMP-documented equipment.

Pineberry timing belt conveyors position vials, blister packs, and cartons accurately for labeling, coding, and inspection. Flat belt and side-belt conveyors transport product between packaging stations without contamination risk.

E-Commerce Fulfillment Centers

High-volume fulfillment operations need conveyors that run reliably at throughput rates that match peak season demand without adding labor.

Pineberry flat belt and accumulation conveyors connect picking stations, packing stations, labeling systems, and sortation equipment. Vacuum conveyors transport flat materials — packing slips, leaflets, documents — at high speed through print and insert operations.

Commercial Print and Mail

High-speed print and mail operations depend on vacuum conveyors to hold flat materials — paper, cards, Tyvek, polywrap — in precise alignment as they pass through printing, folding, inserting, and metering stations.

Pineberry vacuum and flat belt conveyors are integrated into print and mail lines where transport reliability directly affects print quality and piece accuracy.

Consumer Goods Packaging

Consumer goods lines move high volumes of mixed-format products through labeling, coding, inspection, and case packing operations.

Pineberry conveyors handle the variety of product formats typical in consumer goods — bottles, cartons, pouches, tubes, cans — with adjustable guides, belt options, and speed ranges that cover the full format mix without dedicated line per SKU.

Custom and Mixed-Format Manufacturing

Some operations don’t fit neatly into a single industry profile — custom product shapes, non-standard packaging formats, or existing line constraints that require a purpose-built solution.

Pineberry modular and custom-engineered conveyors are designed through an engineering survey process that starts with your specific product, your floor plan, and your throughput target.

Starting point: Describe your product and your line challenge using the qualification form below.

Conveyor Integration with Your Packaging Line

Pineberry conveyors are built to integrate — not to be integrated around.

Every Pineberry conveyor system is engineered to connect to your specific upstream and downstream equipment. Frame height, belt width, speed range, and control interface are all matched to the machines on either side of the conveyor before manufacturing begins.

Upstream integration:

  • Friction feeders (Pineberry SF and HSF series — [PINEBERRY TO CONFIRM: confirm which friction feeder models include integrated conveyor outfeed]): Conveyor takes the singulated product directly from feeder outfeed at matched speed
  • Manual packing or pick stations: Infeed conveyor matched to ergonomic working height and operator pace
  • Form-fill-seal machines: Outfeed conveyor matched to machine outfeed height and product format

Downstream integration:

  • Label applicators: Timing belt conveyor for precise product positioning at label apply point
  • Inkjet coders and thermal transfer coders: Timing belt or flat belt conveyor with encoder output for synchronized print trigger
  • Checkweighers and metal detectors: Flat belt infeed conveyor matched to instrument infeed specification
  • Case packers and cartoners: Flat belt or accumulation infeed with product orientation guides
  • Sortation systems: Flat belt with merge/divert capability, or full modular sortation infeed

Control integration:

  • PLC: Pineberry conveyors can be integrated into your existing PLC or SCADA system — speed control, start/stop, jam detection, and fault signals all wired to your control architecture
  • Standalone HMI: Touchscreen speed and fault control for conveyors that operate independently
  • Encoder/servo synchronization: For timing belt conveyors integrated into print or label lines

Pineberry friction feeder integration:

  • Pineberry builds conveyors specifically to accept product from Pineberry friction feeder outfeeds and deliver it to downstream stations — print, label, inspect, insert, or sort. [PINEBERRY TO CONFIRM: which specific Pineberry product lines ship with integrated conveyor sections as standard vs. as option — e.g., does the SF-12 or HSF series include a standard outfeed conveyor option?]

Why Buy Your Conveyor System from Pineberry?

Engineered for Your Line — Not Adapted to It

Off-the-shelf conveyors require you to modify your line to fit the equipment. Pineberry builds conveyors to fit your line — frame height matched to your machine infeeds and outfeeds, belt width matched to your product, speed range matched to your throughput, and control interface matched to your PLC.

The engineering survey happens before manufacturing, not after installation.

Integration Experience Across the Full Packaging Line

Pineberry doesn’t just build conveyors — we build conveyors as part of complete packaging automation systems. Our friction feeders, print-on-demand systems, and sortation equipment all integrate with Pineberry conveyors as a designed system, not an afterthought.

When you’re connecting a Pineberry friction feeder to a downstream printer to an inspection station, the conveyors in between are part of the same design process.

Built in Canada. Supported from Canada.

Designed and manufactured in Oakville, Ontario since 1984. When you need parts, service, or a modification after installation, you’re dealing with the manufacturer — not a distributor who sources components from three different countries.

Lead times for parts and service visits are dramatically shorter than for imported equipment with overseas support chains.

40 Years of Flat Material and Packaging Line Experience

Pineberry’s friction feeder heritage — over four decades of feeding flat materials at high speed and high reliability — translates directly into vacuum conveyor and timing belt conveyor design. The same engineering discipline that makes a friction feeder run at 200 pieces per minute without misfeeds makes a conveyor run at 60 meters per minute without product loss.

Flexible Configuration and Custom Engineering

No two production lines are identical. Pineberry conveyors are available in standard configurations for common applications and as fully custom-engineered systems for complex or constrained layouts.

Standard configuration: faster lead time, lower cost, proven design for the most common conveyor applications.

Custom engineering: required for unusual product geometries, non-standard line heights, tight floor space constraints, or multi-machine integration where standard components don’t fit.
