How the Pouch Filling Process Works

Automated pouch filling replaces manual labor with precision machinery. Here’s the complete workflow:

Pouch Pick-Up

Robotic grippers or suction cups pick premade pouches from a magazine or hopper. System verifies pouch presence before proceeding to next step.

Pouch Opening

Vacuum suction or mechanical grippers open the pouch mouth. System confirms open position before filling begins. Works with pre-formed flat pouches, stand-up pouches (Doypack), and gusseted pouches.

Product Filling

Auger fillers (powders, granules), piston fillers (liquids, pastes), or volumetric fillers dispense precise quantities into the open pouch. Multi-head weighers can be integrated for high-accuracy filling

Sealing and Discharge

Heat sealing bars seal the pouch top (or zipper closure for resealable pouches). Sealed pouches discharge to downstream conveyors for labeling, cartoning, or case packing.
